Code of Conduct – Our Shared Commitment

This Code of Conduct reflects our shared commitment to creating a respectful, mindful, and supportive environment for everyone at b12. It is meant to guide how we interact with one another and to offer support in addressing challenges or conflicts in a constructive and fair way.

1. Respectful Communication

At b12, we believe in treating each other with respect and taking shared responsibility for our community.

- We communicate with care and consideration—both in person and online.

- We are mindful when using shared spaces and resources, including instruments, materials, and facilities.

  •

We strive for openness and transparency in how we communicate and make decisions.

2. Personal Responsibility

Personal responsibility is an important part of artistic and academic growth.

- We encourage everyone—participants, faculty, and staff—to reflect on their actions and take responsibility for their decisions.

- Open dialogue is key to understanding and growth.

- We aim to live by values such as fairness, respect, tolerance, and solidarity in all areas of b12 life.

  •

Our goal is to create an environment where everyone can reach their full potential.

3. Respecting Physical and Emotional Boundaries

We are aware that certain teaching situations involve trust and responsibility.

- We are committed to maintaining a respectful and safe environment at all times.

- Everyone is expected to be attentive to and respectful of others’ physical and emotional boundaries.

4. Non-Discrimination and Inclusion

We are dedicated to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and discrimination-free community.

- Diversity is a strength that enriches both our artistic and academic work.

- We do not tolerate exclusion, discrimination, or disrespect toward individuals or artistic expression. Nevertheless, there are limits to what is lawful and what is not.

- We encourage a culture of awareness and responsibility, where people feel empowered to speak up against inappropriate behavior, including sexism and other forms of discrimination.

- All concerns are handled with fairness and care for everyone involved.

This Code of Conduct is a shared foundation for how we work, learn, and create together—with respect, awareness, and responsibility.
