The adaptable body
this workshop aims to increase the adaptability of each individual through the development of acute body awareness. guided in continuous exploration, we connect with each part of the body, creating greater sensitivity and mobility. combining somatic and dance practices, each gesture has an origin and purpose, serving to maximise the physical potential of each individual. by exploring different movement systems, we learn to challenge ourselves at all times, from one state to another, playing with intensity, speed and rhythms, and reacting with spontaneity. in response to these suggestions, we no longer limit ourselves to our patterns, which allows us to develop new ways of moving, perceiving and generating movement. these principles are reinvested in the second part of the workshop through choreographic research or by investigating the company’s repertoire.
the description reflects an artist’s idea which was developed at the time it was submitted to b12. it may have changed by the time the workshop or the performance project is starting. please stay flexible. thank you!

company info
entitey / jason Martin
founded in 2017 in montreal, entitey / jason martin serves as a platform for choreographic research and creation — where raw physicality meets human sensitivity. the company’s works stem from a desire to bring the body to light, not as an instrument of performance, but as a vessel of memory, impulse and resonance. guided by an intuitive and sensory approach, jason martin explores the genesis of being — what defines a person at their core — and how this essence manifests through movement. his choreographic practice focuses on the dialogue between emotional and physical responses, seeking to reveal the integrity of gesture, a total physical commitment and visceral intensity. movement becomes a language for the unspoken, expressing the complexity of human connection. since its inception, entitey / jason martin has rapidly established itself as an internationally recognised company, developing three main areas of activity: the presentation of repertoire works, the teaching of workshops and the creation of commissioned works. the company’s works have been presented in over 90 performances across 19 countries and four continents, earning multiple international accolades. today, the company continues to evolve at the intersection of research, performance and human encounter. each work becomes a space for sensitive exploration, where movement — in its simplicity and emotional depth — captures what connects us, what escapes us, and what endures.
