this somatic workshop is an immersive experience that delves into the workings of the human mind and the remarkable capacity we have to shape our perceptions, influence our state and reverse-engineer our neurology to gain full authorship over our art and our lives. through a rich sensory journey of guided movement inspired by the feldenkrais method, complemented by games drawn from psychology, neuroscience and embodied practice, we will deepen our awareness, refine our attention and touch upon altered states to expand the realms of our imagination and rewire our habitual patterns in the quest to design new destinies. this workshop welcomes those seeking to cultivate presence, access creativity, navigate injury, work with trauma and foster a more intimate connection with the self.

biography
ami shulman has choreographed for the national theatre of london and the shakespeare theatre company. she co-created work with the cirque du soleil and has assisted creations with the national ballet of canada and ballet bc. she was an associate choreographer to maxine doyle, she staged the works of johannes wieland internationally and has been a rehearsal director for the göteborgsoperans danskompani in sweden. she has taught throughout europe, canada and the usa, including for the netherlands dans theater, the venice biennale and the juilliard school, amongst others, and she is an artistic associate of the springboard project. ami is a certified intimacy coordinator, she is invested in the healing arts and is a certified feldenkrais practitioner and is trained in ericksonian hypnotherapy. she has presented her work at conferences internationally and is published in the feldenkrais journal and dance magazine. ami co-authored for the anthology back to the dance itself.
