bending reality / falling
the workshop revolves entirely around the phenomenon of falling. built around my own taste for falling and how it has been a key element during my choreographic path, we will explore physical states and systems from past shows and ongoing research, allowing the participants to focus on this specific action. how to let yourself fall? how do you approach the ground, and how do you transform a fall into a choreographic element? are there ways to avert the fall or to reverse it? what can we use to have fun giving in to the fall and to get up again?

biography
after training in dance in caen (fr) and at the cndc in angers, samuel lefeuvre moved to brussels in 2001, working with alain platel and lisi estaràs at les ballets c. de la b. then he met gabriela carrizo and franck chartier, who invited him to join peeping tom for the creations le salon and le sous-sol. in 2007, he founded the group entorse with musician raphaëlle latini. since 2012, he’s been developing his own work in collaboration with argentinian choreographer florencia demestri. by exploring non-anthropocentric choreographic practices and dramaturgies that seek to establish affectionate relationships with living non-humans, they aim to invite spectators to de-hierarchise their gaze and reactivate a multi-sensory connection to the world.
