shake it until you make it
this four-day workshop uses shaking as a central tool to access presence, intensity and a heightened state of attention. shaking becomes a way to loosen judgment, quiet the ego and allow movement to slip from effort into instinct. the body travels through fluid, abrupt, repetitive and trance-like qualities, seeking what emerges once the familiar falls away. music plays a vital and continuous role. it drives the work, challenges both body and mind and keeps the group in a state of sustained activation. supported by breath, it sharpens focus and amplifies sensation, inviting dancers into deeper layers of physical and mental endurance. through the deconstruction of gestures, we interrupt habits and explore a wide spectrum of physicalities — at times linear, at times wild or animal-like. the aim is to build a neutral yet vivid base from which new movement possibilities can arise. throughout the workshop, emphasis is placed on the group dynamic, on breath and on the transformative power of repetition. exhaustion becomes a threshold rather than an end point — a gateway to unity and a shared sense of transcendence. tamara invites dancers to approach the process with curiosity, openness and care, and to immerse themselves fully in the experience, shake it until you make it.

biography
born in serbia, raised in switzerland, tamara studied in london before settling in brussels, where she is now based. many personalities that she has worked with have affected her way of approaching dance in the on-going contemporary process of materialising the medium, and those that she has found a common ground to explore the many facets of dance-theatre are rosemary butcher, simon vincenzi, franck chartier & gabriela carrizo (peeping tom) and tabea martin. working as an artist, choreographer and performer, she collaborates closely with music producer and renowned dj kangding ray since 2022. together they become a duet of creators, constantly questioning their individual medium and exploring the meeting of sound and movement. she is also leading her research of the ma in the field of dance through her teaching, performing and creating around the globe. she founded le facteur in 2018 and has since been producing work under its name. le facteur was born from the inspiration and desire to bring creators together around common artistic values and hybrid performance formats. based between belgium, france and switzerland, le facteur develops a structure that reflects on the relationship between different mediums, being mostly dance and experimental music. several questions then arise about the place of the body, the sensory, the language or the matter in the themes the artists from the collective develop through their productions and their exchanges during their workshops.

le facteur was created in 2017. it was born from the inspirations of tamara gvozdenovic and joanna beulin and the desire to bring artists and creators together around common artistic values and hybrid performance formats. based and working between belgium, france and switzerland, the two initiators express their desire to develop a structure that tries to adapt to the different proposals and formats of today's performance. their common interests in dance, theatre and experimental music connect them and make them reflect on the relationships between these different mediums. several questions then arise about the place of the body, the sensory, the language or the matter in the themes they develop through their productions and their exchanges during the workshops they regularly offer. eager to share aesthetic and physical experiences with an ever-increasing number of people, characters and personalities, they form a collective. le facteur has to its side more than 20 artists from different backgrounds and disciplines and continues to grow through its travels and encounters.
