Axis of action
through an artistic lens, we will turn movement principles inside out, seeking variability and expanding both our intellectual and physical horizons. this practice invites awareness of how we move, think, and sense — treating the body as a site of knowledge, imagination, and adaptation. we will explore the use of image and visualisation in shaping physical work and enhancing artistic and athletic performance. together, we will redefine the building blocks of human movement, identify habitual patterns, and cultivate an environment where new and more efficient possibilities can emerge. problem-solving and strategic thinking will be explored through situational games and tasks, working with tools and partners designed to reveal physical blind spots and familiarise us with sincere failure as an essential part of learning. voice work and theatrical methods will foster performativity and presence. we will explore embodiment as a dialogue between intellect and instinct, developing versatile performers capable of shifting between precision and spontaneity. ultimately, the workshop offers participants the tools to move with intention and enrich the conversation we are having with ourselves and others.

biography
tina is an award-winning performer, movement director, and teacher of armenian descent. based in london and prague, she is a graduate of p.a.r.t.s. and has built a distinctive, multidisciplinary career spanning dance, theatre, film, and circus. her performance work includes collaborations with internationally renowned artists and companies such as marina abramović, gecko theatre, alexander vantournhout, roberto oliván, thomas ryckewaert, cie willi dorner, and cirk la putyka. in film, tina has worked with paul thomas anderson, thom yorke, damien jalet, simon reichel, and ran li, as well as with the movement departments of warner bros. pictures. she has contributed to music videos for joe connor, emile rafael and laurent delforge, and her sister, singer anastázie. as an independent choreographer, tina’s solo and duet works have received choreographic awards, and she is frequently invited as a movement director for new creations of other artists. her current research explores ai and immersive performance, developed in collaboration with colas fiszman and laurent delforge. alongside her artistic practice, tina is a unit leader and lecturer on the ma dance: performance programme at the london contemporary dance school (the place). she is a founding member of ferus animi // terra nova and the founder of axis of action, an evolving interdisciplinary training and performance methodology that she continues to share worldwide at leading festivals and institutions.
