Where we move
how can we bring our full humanity into the dance studio? habits, humor, emotions, and life stories - all the parts of us that make us who we are. this is an invitation to engage with this question in a unique way: through creation, performance, and community. working collaboratively, we will build material both together and individually, developing a movement language that emerges from the meeting of our personalities and priorities. we will explore the specificity of our physicality and our choices - how we move, why we move, and what we communicate. key themes will be storytelling, expression, and clarity of intention. the process will culminate in a composition that balances structure with spontaneity: set material alongside improvisation, supported by an attention to presence that only live performance can offer. my artistic approach is always contextual. who is in the room? what are our values? how much time do we have? with these questions in mind, i will foster a space that is rooted in play, creativity, and growth.
the description reflects an artist’s idea which was developed at the time it was submitted to b12. it may have changed by the time the workshop or the performance project is starting. please stay flexible. thank you!
